About
The focus of Charles Sears' law practice is family law, also known as domestic relations law. We help our clients navigate through the family court process, from drafting and filing the initial petition or the response, through discovery and disclosure, discussion of settlement (also known as alternative dispute resolution), to the final trial or evidentiary hearing. For cases involving divorce (dissolution of marriage), legal separation, paternity, child custody (legal decision-making authority), parenting time, child support, Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction Enforcement Act (UCCJEA), and enforcement of court orders and decrees, including spousal maintenance (alimony), we represent clients in the Superior Court of Arizona in Maricopa County. For international parental abduction cases (under the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction), we represent clients in both the United States District Court of Arizona (federal court) and the Superior Court of Arizona (state court). We also prepare pre-marital (prenuptial) and post-marital agreements.
